Labradoodles were developed in Australia as a special guide dog breed through crossbreeding Labrador Retrievers and Poodles. This was done by the RGDAA which is an association responsible with the enforcement of guide dog standards in Australia. The result of their effort was a dog breed that was a smart and sociable with a strong guiding instinct. It is because of this that the breed qualified as a guide dog making it useful to many.

This dog breed was originally developed to be a hypoallergenic service dog. Since Australian labradoodles are not pure bred they are classified as designer dogs. Labradoodles are flexible dogs which means they can be both a family and a therapy dog since they are purely hypoallergenic. They are a perfect family dog making it worth buying a puppy.

The dog is highly sociable and enjoys the company of its owner a lot. She is a strong dog, a trait inherited from the Labrador Retriever. It also exhibits a strong work ethic, which is something inherited from the poodle. As such, labradoodles has the best mixture of both the parents. This has made the breed very popular not just in Australia where it originated, but also globally.

Labradoodles come in three main sizes, that is, medium, miniature and standard. The size of the poodle used during first generation breeding will determine the size of fully grown puppies. The size of the males is usually bigger compared to the females. This dog breed can be categorized from medium to miniature sized dogs.

The weight categories of vafious classifications of Labradoodles have limits. The biggest and the heaviest are standard-sized dogs. They normally weigh up to 65 pounds and rise to a height of 24 inches. The smallest dogs are the miniatures, whereas the medium dogs fall between standard and miniature sizes. Normally, dogs that are medium-sized usually grow up to 45 pounds and their shoulders rise up to 20 inches from the ground.

Puppies are usually great learners and exhibit a high level of trainability. They are able to master basic skills after a few repetitions. The first lesson of training that the puppies should be given is crate training so that they learn to stay inside when they need to be alone. This should be followed by training them to learn to poop outside the house or at a specific point in the house.

It is important that the dog be given room training so that it may learn how to behave inside the house. Training should be done at a young age for the dog to get learn and familiarize easily. The dog will need to be taught how to walk on a leash outdoors since walking a dog is important for its physical fitness.

The most important thing is feeding the dog in the correct way. One needs to avoid animal foods that are thought to be toxic to dogs. To avoid any health issues, one needs to observe proper feeding practices when feeding their dog.
