What You May Not Know About Australian Labradoodles

Owning a pet can be one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime. When trained properly, they can be wonderful pets and faithful companions that will love you for life. With so many breeds readily available, one should learn to pick a type that best suits them. Here are some fun facts you need to know about Australian labradoodle puppies for sale.

The Australian labradoodle is a unique and energetic breed that is an entirely different group from other doodles. Its main difference is the fact that its main contributors come from European ancestry while regular labradoodles originate from American sources. Another factor that also separates the two is their breeding program where the former has a careful process.

Another fact to know about this type is it differs greatly from its standard counterparts. One is that the Australian type is generally derived from European sources while regular ones tend to learn toward American options. Additionally, its famous coat predominantly comes in straight or waxy textures while American sourced breeds may vary.

Another tidbit you should also know about this type is its unique coat. Many people label this creature as the first hypoallergenic dog and for good reason. What makes it stand out is its fur sheds less in comparison to other breeds. In addition, its coat also traps and prevents dander from spreading through the air. While this trait is unique, there are instances where sensitive people may still experience unwanted side effects.

Next, they are incredibly lovable. When raised properly, the Australian labradoodle is an excitable, friendly, and loving companion. They have an even temperament which makes them approachable towards other animals. While those shared traits are true from pets purchased from reliable breeders, owners should make sure to also socialize their dog immediately.

They are a mix of different breeds. Most people can infer that labrodoodles are a cross between a standard poodle and Labrador. In reality, this dog also has other characteristics from other dogs. These include the Irish Water Spaniel, American and English Cocker Spaniel, and the Curly Coat Retriever. Each of which have their own defining personal traits and physical characteristics.

They have a long lifespan. On average, the Australian labradoodle can live from between thirteen and fifteen years provided owners properly take care of them. However, they do have common health problems you need to watch out for. Some examples include hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, and Von Willebrand Disease. To ensure your pet is not at risk for developing any of these issues, remember to bring them to the veterinarian on a regular basis.

Last but not least, they come in a variety of different sizes and colors. The standard option stands anywhere between twenty one to twenty four inches in height while the miniature and medium can range from fourteen to sixteen and seventeen to twenty inches respectively. Their fur also comes in a variety of shades including chocolate, red, and apricot.

There is no doubt that caring for a pet requires responsibility and patience. While a breed may have shared traits, owners should still remember that each dog is unique and have their own personality, viewpoint, and temperament. If you are looking for a hypoallergenic, fun, and intelligent friend then this type is your perfect match.
