The Finer Points Of A Standard Poodle Breeder

By Jerry Burns

People are not alone in the world. That does not mean that there are aliens, thought it likely that there are, nor does it mean that there are ghosts, though it is possible that there are. No, people are not alone in the sense that there are animals that share the planet with them. Many of these animals are just chattel, raised so as to be eaten later. But sometimes, these animals can mean more. Sometimes they can be companions and partners. The animals that fall into the latter category are dogs, since they are among the smartest animals in the world. As such, it can be important to find a standard poodle breeder.

Dogs are mans best friend. There is little doubt about that. They provide companionship to people as it is very difficult to be alone when one owns a dog. They are also employed in a variety of fields, from law enforcement to the military to personal protection.

Show dogs are pretty. They are like body builders, all their athleticism is for form as opposed to function. Poodles are seen as a show dog, but that is far from the truth. They were originally retrievers, which means that they would often accompany and assist hunters whose main game were fowls and ducks.

Now, the poodle is a fairly large breed. There are variants that are smaller, but those are essentially just living toys as opposed to pets. A standard male poodle can weigh as much as seventy pounds, while a female can tip the scales at sixty pounds. Regardless of gender, they will likely be more than thirty eight centimeters tall.

As with any medium sized canine, poodles need to be exercised. As former hunting dogs, they can be quite energetic. As such, it is vital to make sure that the animal gets as much exercise as it needs, as it does need to be quite active at times.

When a person goes to work, they do so with the expectation that they will be compensated for that work with money, which they will then use to pay for goods and services. Breeders are no different. They do not peddle their wares for free. No, they expect that their customers will pay a premium price for their premium products.

Of course, the dog that is bought and sold should be healthy. No one wants to pay a pretty penny for a pet only to have to spend even more money in veterinarian bills. As such, it is best to make sure that each animal is vetted by a medical professional, if not a veterinarian, then maybe a veterinary nurse. It would also be a good idea to do some research on the breeder.

Animals without owners go to shelters, where they might be adopted. However, many do not and have to be put down to make space for new animals. The sad reality is that there are many would be fur babies who will die because no human will adopt them.

The thing about pets is that they are wonderful. They are family in almost every sense of the world. There are ways to acquire them, some with fewer consequences than others.
