Designer Cavachon Puppies For Sale In MN Are Very Popular

By Frances Patterson

Designer dogs seem to be all the rage these days. Lots of people love the idea of owning one and are ready to spend large amounts of cash to make that happen. It may be a point of pride that they can afford one, or a way of emphasizing their luxurious lifestyle. Neither one of these things is a good reason to purchase a pet of any kind. Designer, or hybrid, animals are simply the product of two separate purebred dogs mating to create a new breed. Cavachon puppies for sale in MN, for example, are a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Bichon Frise.

With designer animals it is a good idea to get as much information as possible about their genetic history and background. If you are purchasing a first generation dog, that is a puppy whose parents are one each of the different breeds, or a second generation dog, meaning both parents are Cavachons, there may be significant differences in height, weight, color, and temperament.

Like Bichons and Cavaliers, the Cavachons are delightful and fun little dogs to have around. They generally respond well to humans and enjoy being petted and played with. People are impressed with how smart the animals are because they don't look particularly brainy. Cavachons are quick to learn though, and that makes training them pretty easy.

The height of Cavachons can vary widely depending on the body composition of their parents. Some are quite tall, while others are more compact and closer to the ground. Their weight can vary anywhere from eighteen to twenty-five pounds or so. Most of the animals are white or peach colored, but there are black and tan varieties as well. The dogs who enjoy good health can be expected to live for fifteen to twenty years.

The dogs make great family pets. You can even trust them with small children and other household dogs and cats. Cavachons are easy going and patient. They also don't need much room to live comfortably, so condo and apartment owners will find them good lifestyle companions. All animals need regular exercise, but your Cavachon will be content with short walks.

Cavachons do require maintenance. Their coats need weekly attention, and they should have regular baths to keep them clean and fresh smelling. If you find grooming too much to handle, you will have to be prepared to spend extra money on a good groomer that the dog likes and trusts.

The health issues that trouble Bichons and Cavaliers are not as pronounced in Cavachons, but you should be very careful and get as much information as there is available about a puppy's parents before you decide to purchase an animal. They can easily inherit heart problems and autoimmune system diseases that will significantly shorten their life expectancy.

Before you introduce any pet into your family you need to feel comfortable that you are committed to caring for the animal for years to come. Dogs often become beloved family members who deserve the best life possible.
