Caring for the cat is very simple. The coat only needs to be combed and brushed once in a week. Brushing helps to eliminate dead hair and to distribute skin oils. Bathing is rarely needed. Periodontal disease should be prevented by brushing. It is important to ensure proper dental hygiene. Nails should also be trimmed every once in a while.

Any discharge in the eyes should be removed by wiping using a soft, damp piece of cloth. When wiping the eyes, the corners should be changed to avoid spreading disease in case of any. A mixture of warm water and cider vinegar can be used to clean dirty eyes. Cotton swaps may damage ear interiors hence must be avoided.

This breed is perfect as a family pet. It should be kept as an indoor-only pet to prevent it from contracting diseases and being attacked by other animals. It co-exists well with children, other breeds and pets, and cat-friendly dogs.
