One characteristic health issue is a so-called mitral valve disease. This is actually a specific heart condition that is inheritable for this breed.

Having a dog is a great responsibility, not only a great pleasure. You need to provide various things before your newest family member arrives to your home. A crate, some bowls for food and water, toys, chewing toys, leash, collar and, of course, a nice little bed or a soft cushion she will sleep on. You will also need some good quality food, but start with something she is already familiar with.

Your home should be perfectly safe place for your new puppy. Some plants may be dangerous, and you need to remove them, because all little dogs are happy to chew just about anything.
